Never. Bear reads your trades and coaches how you trade. Bear never places an order, never moves a dollar, and never predicts market direction. Read-only, always.
Do I have to connect my brokerage?
No. Today you log trades with a screenshot or the manual wizard — both work with any broker, day one. Bear never asks for a password or an API key. There is no credential field in the app.
How is this different from a trading journal?
A journal is what you write after, from memory, filtered by ego. Bear is the cameraman — there while you perform, recording what actually happened, then coaching you on it.
What if I'm brand new with no trades?
Learning Mode teaches risk, mechanics, and psychology, and reviews paper trades on process exactly as it would real ones. You build the habit of reviewing before you risk a dollar — the DNA waits for real trades, because practice is not performance.
Is my data private?
Every user's data is isolated at the database level by row-level security. A trader's data never appears in another trader's coaching. Yours is yours alone.
